Overview of the Role

Our healthcare client is seeking an Internal Communications Specialist (Regulatory Affairs) for a 6 month assignment. The role involves leading internal communications strategies that align with organizational priorities and support Regulatory Affairs objectives. This role partners closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver clear, consistent, and impactful messaging.

Basics

Duration: 6 months; through April 2027
Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
Location: Hybrid (onsite Tues-Thurs) in Lake County, IL

Top Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in internal or corporate communications, including strategy development and execution
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience supporting executive level stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed and global organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to anticipate communication needs and align messaging to business priorities
  • Experience working in global environments with an understanding of cultural nuances
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams and leadership levels
  • Experience supporting executive communications including presentations, talking points, and messaging materials
  • Experience developing and implementing communication strategies for complex business or technology initiatives
  • Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred
  • Project planning and management experience with successful implementation of business initiatives is preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of internal communication strategies aligned with Regulatory Affairs and organizational priorities
  • Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to develop messaging that supports key initiatives and cross-functional goals
  • Draft, edit, and distribute employee communications including enterprise emails, newsletters, and organizational updates
  • Maintain and manage the communications calendar to ensure timely, consistent, and effective message delivery
  • Support employee advisory programs by coordinating meetings, developing agendas, and delivering communication outputs
  • Develop integrated communication plans including stakeholder analysis, messaging, channel selection, and effectiveness tracking
  • Provide executive communications support including presentations, talking points, scripts, and leadership materials
  • Build and optimize communication programs to enhance employee understanding and engagement
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure consistent and aligned messaging across the organization
  • Assess communication effectiveness and incorporate feedback to continuously improve strategies and channels
  • Support planning and execution of communication forums and events that promote understanding of key priorities
