Location: 3560 Pentagon Blvd, Beavercreek, Ohio | Full-time, exempt (salary) position.

About the Role

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining internal communication materials that support the credit union’s objectives, enhance employee engagement, and reinforce Wright-Patt Credit Union’s (WPCU) purpose, mission, and values. This includes short-form written communications, optimization of Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, Forms, etc.), and light graphic editing.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the Internal Communications Process (60%)
    • Content Creation: Write or create grammatically correct, engaging content for internal campaigns, communication needs, and partner engagement with the WPCU brand. Includes designing graphic components when visuals enhance messaging.
    • Content Planning: Populate and manage an internal content calendar aligned with departmental and organizational goals.
    • Intranet Management: Oversee the front-end of WPCU’s SharePoint-based intranet, "PartnerNet," including:
      • Reviewing and editing content
      • Posting/publishing timely, reader-friendly, error-free content
      • Managing the lifecycle of existing content
      • Overseeing departmental pages, including:
        • Training department designees to manage their own pages/content
        • Quality control to ensure brand and standards compliance
        • Optimizing page structure, navigation, and features for user experience (in partnership with IT)
    • Incident Communications: Manage WPCU’s internal outage and alert system, including real-time monitoring, content creation, review, editing, targeting, and sending.
    • Internal Digital Signage: Manage content for internal digital screens, including content calendars, graphic creation, and ensuring fresh, current content.
  • Microsoft 365 Optimization (20%)
    • Act as the department’s MS 365 champion, identifying and implementing tools (e.g., Power Automate, Forms, SharePoint lists) to streamline communications processes.
    • Stay current on MS 365 features relevant to communications and productivity.
    • Share best practices with the Corporate Communications team, Marketing department, and organization.
  • Other Departmental Support (15%)

    Support the Marketing department with additional tasks, projects, and initiatives as needed.

  • Risk Mitigation (5%)

    Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and risk mitigation activities. Report gaps to leadership to minimize member impact and risk.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree in Communications, English, Business, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in an office environment (marketing or internal communications experience preferred).
  • Strong written communication skills and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.); Power Automate experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva is a plus.

Pay

Grade PG 17: $76,689.60 – $115,107.20 annually. Target compensation range: $80,000 – $92,000.
