The Job

Arcade Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Medical Records Supervisor to oversee technical operations, supervise clerical staff and credentialed Medical Records Coders of the hospital's Health Information Management Department. The Medical Records Supervisors manage the release of information, chart assembly, inpatient and outpatient coding, transcription, birth and death certificates and disability processing.

Minimum Requirements

• Credentials: Must possess a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential.
• Experience: Five years of experience coding medical records in an acute care setting AND one year of experience supervising medical records coders in an acute care hospital.

Desired Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management is highly desired.

Selection Process

There will be a competitive evaluation of the application and supplemental application for Medical Records Supervisor - Contract.

Supervision

Please describe your experience supervising medical records coders; be sure to include the number of staff supervised as well as the level of responsibility (i.e. prepare and sign work performance evaluations, interview, hire, discipline, fire, assign work, develop work schedule, etc.).

Coding

Describe your medical records coding experience; be sure to include the number of years using CPT and ICD-9 coding as well as the abstracting systems you have used (meditech, 3M Encoder SMS Invision, etc.).
