Internal Audit AVP – Markets Technology
About the role
Join us as an Internal Audit AVP – Markets Technology. You will execute risk-based technology audits across the Markets business, evaluating the effectiveness of technology controls, governance, and operational processes. Working with stakeholders across Technology, Risk, and Audit, you will leverage data analytics to identify risks, assess control effectiveness, and deliver meaningful audit insights that strengthen the control environment. This role is ideal for a collaborative professional with strong internal audit experience, analytical skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.
- Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.
- Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.
- Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors.
- Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.
Requirements
- Experience performing technology internal audits within a financial services environment
- Understanding of technology risk, IT controls, and risk and control frameworks
- Experience using data analytics to support audit planning, testing, and reporting
Qualifications
- Ability to evaluate control design and operating effectiveness and recommend practical improvements
- Experience partnering with technology, risk, and business stakeholders to deliver risk-based audit engagements
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CIA, CPA, or equivalent are preferred

Benefits
This role is located in New York or the Whippany, NJ offices.
- New York: Minimum Salary $95,000, Maximum Salary $150,000
- Whippany, NJ: Minimum Salary $95,000, Maximum Salary $150,000
