About the role
The intern will work with applicants and consumers of the State/Federal Vocational Rehabilitation Program. This program assists individuals with disabilities in obtaining community based employment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in conducting intakes of applicants;
- Determine eligibility for VR;
- Develop employment plans for eligible consumers;
- Provide overall case management of a caseload.
Qualifications
- Completion or enrollment in master's degree level courses in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or related Counseling Degree is expected for this internship.
- Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
- By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
- All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
