Intern - User Centered Design (Summer 2027)

About the role

Contribute to industrial design efforts in various stages of product development for customers in each of our market sectors. You will work on cross-discipline teams composed of mechanical, electrical, software, product, and quality engineers.

Responsibilities

• Help develop user-centric design solutions that solve complex problems
• Participate in brainstorms, internal project reviews, client meetings
• Support cross-discipline product development teams
• Support all aspects of user research and testing

Qualifications

• Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design for the entire duration of internship

Preferred qualifications

• Sophomore or Junior level status
• GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
• Strong sketching and form development skills
• Adobe Creative Suite tools Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
• 3D rendering (Keyshot preferred)
• Experience with SolidWorks is desired
• Model-making skills (foam core, foam, rapid prototyping, etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate and present ideas internally/externally

Pay

Hourly Rate: $23 - $27/hr. This is an internship position (Non-Exempt Salary). The rate offered within this range will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level.
