About the role
KPMG is currently seeking an Intern to join our Trade and Customs practice.
Responsibilities
- Support Global Trade Technology solutions implementation, including the design, build, training, testing, and deployment stages of each project.
- Write business blueprint and functional design specification documents, perform system configuration, testing, and provide end-user training to prepare business users for successfully using Global Trade solutions in their daily trade and compliance activities.
- Work with clients' business resources to introduce innovative changes to how they conduct their business, encompassing changes to people, processes, and technology.
- Collaborate with clients' technology resources in the technical deployment of the Global Trade application, with an emphasis on knowledge transfer so the client can become self-sufficient.
- Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Business (Supply Chain, Logistics, or other business-related major), Computer Science and Engineering, or a related degree or equivalent program.
- Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics preferred.
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills. Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, Power BI, MS Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), and apply emerging technologies to enhance tax processes and insights.
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; feedback-oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
- Completion of SAP-related courses or prior SAP experience is preferred but not required.
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using a personal vehicle or public transportation.
- Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity.
