Intern - School Programs (Fall)

About the role

This School Programs Intern position will include leading and assisting education programming in outdoor skills such as fishing, camping, and hunting, as well as nature-based conservation and South Dakota heritage programs. The position will primarily serve school groups, ranging from preschool to college students, and even in-service teachers.

Responsibilities

• Leading and assisting education programming in outdoor skills such as fishing, camping, and hunting, as well as nature-based conservation and South Dakota heritage programs.
• Aid in programs developed and scheduled by the program coordinator.
• Develop and lead your own programs.
• Work at the information desk to meet programming and customer service needs.
• Enjoy working with people of all ages and spending time outdoors.
• Gain valuable teaching experience in an informal setting.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

Qualifications

• Course work in the following areas will aid in consideration: Education, Outdoor Education, Communication, Public Relations, Biology, Natural Resources Management or similar environmental education.
• Must have enthusiasm and willingness to learn!
