About the role
This School Programs Intern position will include leading and assisting education programming in outdoor skills such as fishing, camping, and hunting, as well as nature-based conservation and South Dakota heritage programs. The position will primarily serve school groups, ranging from preschool to college students, and even in-service teachers.
Responsibilities
- Leading and assisting education programming in outdoor skills such as fishing, camping, and hunting, as well as nature-based conservation and South Dakota heritage programs.
- Aid in programs developed and scheduled by the program coordinator.
- Develop and lead your own programs.
- Work at the information desk to meet programming and customer service needs.
- Enjoy working with people of all ages and spending time outdoors.
- Gain valuable teaching experience in an informal setting.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
- By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
Qualifications
- Course work in the following areas will aid in consideration: Education, Outdoor Education, Communication, Public Relations, Biology, Natural Resources Management or similar environmental education.
- Must have enthusiasm and willingness to learn!
