About the Role
Provides technical assistance under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) to support patient care and achieve quality outcomes. Assists with procedures outside critical care areas, including oxygen monitoring, aerosol therapy, airway clearance, and electrocardiograms. Performs equipment cleaning, stocking, and transport. Once certified in Basic Life Support, may assist in cardiorespiratory arrests at the discretion of the employer. Contributes to developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist with respiratory procedures such as oxygen monitoring, aerosol therapy, and airway clearance.
- Perform electrocardiograms and support patient assessments.
- Clean, stock, and transport respiratory equipment.
- Assist in cardiorespiratory arrests after obtaining Basic Life Support certification.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans under supervision.
- Support healthcare team efforts and participate in activities to improve healthcare delivery.
- Build clinical knowledge through ongoing education and complete assigned goals.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment as a second-year Respiratory Care Practitioner student or senior-year candidate in an accredited program.
- Computer literacy.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 14 days of hire.
