About the role

The Monitoring Systems and Technology Intern Center (MSTIC) program seeks to recruit outstanding graduate students majoring in various engineering and science fields to support nuclear proliferation detection, remote sensing and verification systems, and high-consequence product manufacturing. MSTIC projects include satellite systems engineering, high-consequence missions, and multi-disciplinary sensing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of technical principles and processes.
  • Understand and utilize a variety of research tools.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Contribute to team environments.
  • Show proficiency in project management.
  • Be proficient in a suite of software, including Microsoft Office.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate program.
  • Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Capable of working up to 25 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.

Qualifications

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 for all degrees earned.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of an engineering or science-related field as listed in the required section.

The Monitoring Systems and Technology Intern Center (MSTIC) is a student internship program at Sandia National Laboratories focusing on remote sensing and technologies.
