Intern, Professional Flight - Flight Operations (Summer 2027)

Overview & Key Responsibilities

A Flight Operations (Flight School) intern will assist in achieving divisional goals and contribute to the overall success of Delta Air Lines. Interns will work with a specific team such as Training and Standards, Line Operations, or the Chief Pilot Office. While each intern will have individual duties, all interns are expected to collaborate on a team assignment presented to Flight Operations Leadership at the end of the semester.

Interns will have opportunities to learn about other departments, including Flight Safety, Operations Customer Center, Technical Operations, In-Flight Service, and Airport Customer Service.

• Paid internship with additional privileges such as standby travel anywhere in the Delta system while off duty
• On-site position at Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with an aviation discipline
• Minimum 2.5 GPA, able to maintain it throughout the internship
• Commitment to the internship timeline: May 2027 through August 2027
• Ability to work onsite in Atlanta, GA
• Strong organizational, project management, and personal management skills
• Robust verbal and written communication skills at all levels
• Ability to work well in teams and prioritize safety and security
• Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• At least 18 years of age with authorization to work in the United States
• Excellent communication skills, ability to process complicated issues quickly, and maintain confidentiality
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, Forms, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet
• Competency in managing and working with training equipment, collecting and analyzing flight planning data, reading and summarizing new regulations, and relating to the advanced jet environment
• Minimum of 150 total flight hours, actively pursuing either a Commercial Pilot Certificate or a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI)
