Intern Pharmacist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains patients’ drug therapies, advises on the safe use of medications, and informs of potential side effects.
• Completes MTMs.
• Dispenses medications as prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
• Verifies order entries, maintains records of controlled substances, changes and removes expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.
• Completes all clinical services provided by the pharmacy, as directed (vaccinations, blood pressure/temperature measurements, diabetes management, etc.).
• Maintains records of patient history.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant legal procedures, regulations, and rules that regulate the pharmaceutical practice.
• Provides consultations to patients regarding medications and their use.
• Responds to or assists PIC with audits and inspections from various regulatory agencies, as directed.

Qualifications

• Currently in school for a bachelor's in pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Intern must be part of an accredited internship program.
• Valid State Intern Pharmacist License.
• Must possess immunization certificate and BLS.
