About the role

The park manager interns will be working with district supervisor and park manager, volunteers, and other seasonal staff to learn all aspects of the operations and maintenance of West Whitlock Recreation Area and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Public relations and park rule enforcement
• Permits sales and auditing
• Fee collection
• Data collection for end of the month reports
• Operation of mowers
• Operation of hand and power tools
• Assisting with special event planning and programming
• Assist in facility and grounds maintenance projects
• Maintenance of equipment
• Facility sanitation
• Administrative duties

Qualifications

• Must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) in upcoming semester or in the immediately preceding semester.
• Must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time of application.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
• Preference may be given to applicants with junior/senior standing, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.

Pay

Minimum salary: $20.82 hourly.
