Basic Job Function Greet and assist guests and members with the selection and purchase of merchandise as well as providing the guest with needed information in person and by telephone. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures. Tasks/Responsibilities Graciously welcome guests and members as they arriveProvide a warm and hospitable club environment to guests and membersEnsure club privacy by checking Sea Island cards to verify date, membership category and identificationLearn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and MembersDirects and manages all telephone callsWork closely with Head Golf ProfessionalRemain informed of current trends and inventory statusMaintain the availability of merchandise in a clean and orderly fashionAssist with merchandising and display arrangementsEnsure all merchandise is correctly tagged and pricedAssist with quarterly inventory proceduresAssist guests with merchandise sales, up-selling where possibleHandle ordering for specific high turnover itemsRecord and bill orders accurately into the register system (Micros) and process payments using guest/member cardsMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding areaWork with all resort departments to maintain maximum rapport and open communication channels to anticipate and satisfy member and guest needs and demandsProvide our departing guests and members with a genuine thank you and invitation to allow us to serve them againAssist Head Professional with guest accommodationsAssist scheduling tee times and answers questions regarding the use of golf facilitiesAssist Head Professional with all tournament operation needsAssist with the organization of group golfMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s abilityIf applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timingUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediatelyAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership Physical Requirements Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, hold, bend, push, pull, and walk for prolonged periodsHearing and vision ability (close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus)Must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to lift, carry, pull and push up to 50 lbs intermittently throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazardsAbility to maintain compliance with Sea Island’s Resort Professional Image Policy
