As a Golf Intern, you're a friendly face in the golf shop who helps guests and members feel welcome from the moment they walk in. You're passionate about the game and genuinely enjoy sharing that passion with others, whether you're recommending the right glove or answering a question about tee times. You bring an understanding of golf industry standards and retail, so you're comfortable talking clubs, gear, and course conditions, and you know your way around golf operations. You're a natural multitasker who stays organized and upbeat even when the shop gets busy, and you take real pride in a merchandise floor that looks sharp and ready for guests. You're eager to learn from the Golf leaders and colleagues, and you bring genuine curiosity to every part of the operation, from tournament days to the quiet mornings before the shop opens. You'll greet and check in guests and members, help them find the right merchandise, and keep the shop clean, organized, and well-stocked. You'll assist with merchandising and display arrangements, help tag and price incoming inventory, and pitch in on quarterly inventory counts so the shop always looks its best. You'll support the Golf team with tee times, tournament operations, and group golf events, and answer phone calls and questions about our golf facilities along the way. Every guest you welcome and every question you answer helps create a smooth, enjoyable experience on and off the course as you gain real golf industry experience. You respond to guest requests and follow through to assure satisfactory outcomes and compliance. You set the tone by consistently upholding and ensuring compliance with departmental procedures, including standards for quality, timing, attendance, and appearance. You follow and ensure all Sea Island safety protocols are consistently met through situational awareness of your surroundings. You enthusiastically maintain your knowledge of Sea Island’s properties, services, and offerings, and share this information with guests and members. You are proactive in helping when needed and are willing to help with other areas or duties as requested. You form effective relationships and work closely with resort departments to maintain rapport and foster open communication. You maintain a thorough knowledge of current services, amenities, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area. When needed or requested by leadership, you act to promptly resolve concerns, coordinating necessary efforts through the appropriate departments and consistently follow-up to ensure resolution.
