About the role
Volvo Financial Services ("VFS") is seeking a second or third year law student to serve as a legal intern in the company’s US Legal Department during the 2026 fall term. The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the graduate's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for VFS by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. The internship allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and VFS.
The position is located in Greensboro, North Carolina and requires a minimum commitment of 10 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Perform legal research and writing
- Assist with various legal matters while interacting directly with the Legal Department and internal clients
- Update a state GAP law survey
- Assist with negotiated commercial transactions
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an ABA accredited law school (top 1/3 of class preferred)
- Demonstrated strong legal writing skills
- Prior professional work experience is a plus
- Familiarity with or coursework on Articles 2A and 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code, Business Associations and/or Bankruptcy preferred
- Must have 30 cumulative credit hours and a minimum GPA of 2.75
- Fall interns may work up to 30 hours per week

- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Fully proficient in reading, writing and speaking English; additional language a plus
- Ability to prioritize work effectively and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proven experience working with attention to detail and in a proactive way

Pay
The hourly range for this role is $17.00 - $46.00, determined by factors including geographic location, academic classification, and degree-seeking area of study. The final offer also considers internal equity of current team members.
