Intern - Engineering, System Planning & Weatherization

About the role

ERCOT is recruiting for multiple interns in the System Planning & Weatherization department that will ultimately fill roles in the following areas of ERCOT:

• Planning Model Administration
• Operations Model Administration
• Reliability Assessment Modeling
• Regional Planning
• Economic Analysis & Long-Term Studies
• Large Load Batch Studies
• Transmission Planning
• Comprehensive Transmission Planning

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering preferably with a focus on Power Systems, Computer and Electrical Engineering
• Enrolled in an academic bachelors or post graduate degree program maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Preferred Experience

• Experience with building software and coding in any of the following languages: C#, Java, or Python
• Familiarity with database querying using SQL
• Experience with power systems analysis

Schedule

• Full-time internship for the Summer of 2027
• Program runs from the start of June through the second week of August

Work Location

Taylor, TX – Interns will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management.
