Intern - Engineering, System Operations

About the internship

ERCOT is recruiting for multiple interns in the System Operations department. Interns receive assignments and projects that aim to solve real challenges facing the electric industry. The internship also allows students to experience working alongside ERCOT employees and being part of a team.

Areas of focus

• Event Analysis
• Grid Analysis
• Macro Economic Load Analytics
• Operations Engineering & Application Support

Eligibility

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Systems, Computer and Electrical Engineering
• Enrolled in an academic bachelor's or post-graduate degree program maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Preferred experience

• Experience with building software and coding in C#, Java, or Python
• Familiarity with database querying using SQL
• Experience with power systems analysis

Work location & schedule

Taylor, TX — interns are required to be on-site at minimum 2 days per week, or more as needed based on business needs. This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027, running from the start of June through the second week of August.
