Internship Overview

  • Time Commitment: 20 hours per week

  • Internship Duration: 9/8/26-12/11/26

  • Location: The Woodlands, TX or immediate surrounding area

  • Salary: $23.00 per hour

  • Internship Outcomes: Gain important and practical job skills to be successful in a non-profit environment, explore a career-path with a reputable voluntary health/service organization, complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities

  • Work with staff and volunteers to support fundraising campaigns.

  • The focus is on increasing participation and engagement in the Heart Walk, Heart Ball, and Go Red for Women events.

  • Aid in external visits, calls, and emails to help with recruitment, engagement, management, and stewardship of current and prospective donors and volunteers.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of fundraising activities, logistics, and administrative support.

  • Assist with pre-campaign planning, day of event execution, and post-campaign wrap-up projects.

  • Aid in volunteer management, including prepping for and attending externally facing meetings (both in-person and virtual).

  • Conduct prospect research to generate new leads and compile information for fundraising campaigns.

  • Aid in administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, assembling thank-you cards, and organizing event supplies.

Qualifications

  • Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, marketing, event planning, public relations, or a related field are preferred.

  • Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.

  • Experience with public speaking and engaging with the community.

  • Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working professionally with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.

  • Intermediate to excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Canva.

  • Experience in SharePoint is a plus.
