The New York Islanders Hockey Club is an iconic franchise with a passionate fan base and a rich history of success. The club moved to its new home, UBS Arena, in 2021, which is part of a larger redevelopment project at Belmont Park.

How To Make The Team

We are hiring an Intern, Community Relations. This role focuses on fan growth through grassroots programs, introducing the game of hockey to local youth, fundraising for the organization's non-profit arm, and assisting with community-related tasks.

  • Assist in setup, execution, and breakdown of Islanders events off-site and at Islanders-owned facilities.
  • Operational needs and activation of the Islanders Community Events Tour.
  • Fan engagement, data collection, and proper storage of data following each event.
  • Planning and solicitation of donations for Islanders premier fundraising events.
  • Absentee support for Community Relations Department at Islanders home games.
  • Growing the game by helping with various street hockey and floorball related programs.
  • Day-to-day clerical tasks such as sorting mail, data entry, donation fulfillment, and organizing department storage areas.

Where You’ll Go

This internship is based on events and event locations. You can expect to work at:

  • Office Home Bases: Northwell Health Ice Center, East Meadow, and Islanders Executive Offices, Floral Park.
  • Arena Home Base: UBS Arena, Elmont.
  • Home games and other team events (events can fall on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays).
  • Variety of community locations that align with the department’s events calendar.
