Community Relations Intern

About the role

As an intern with Upbound, you have a unique opportunity to enhance your problem solving, communications and event planning skills, while improving your networking and relationship building experience. This will be a great opportunity for a student to prepare for a future career in public relations, social work, community development, or nonprofit management.

Responsibilities

• Organize Habitat for Humanity Builds in various cities throughout the country by collaborating with executive leadership
• Assist in sourcing sponsorship for annual charity events
• Assist in the scholarship awards process
• Organize community events such as back-to-school fairs, farmers markets, and food drives
• Other administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

• Must be a rising Junior or above at an accredited four-year college or university
• Cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous work or classroom experience in one of the following is preferred: Public Relations, Social Work, Nonprofit Management or Community Development
• Ability to work in our corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas throughout the entire ten-week summer intern program
• Authorized to work in the U.S.; Upbound Group does not offer employment-based immigration sponsorship for this role (including OPT or CPT)

Pay

$23.00 per hour

Schedule

The ten-week program will run from May 25 to July 30, 2027, and is an in-office experience at our company headquarters in Plano, Texas.
