Intern/Co-op - Cyber Security (Fall 2026)

About the role
Langan is seeking a Cyber Security Intern or Co-op to join its collaborative Information Technology discipline in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in researching and documenting cyber security best practices and tools. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience working on Information Technology cyber security projects for an engineering consulting firm.
Responsibilities
- Research emerging trends and new security technologies;
- Evaluate current security measures in place and collaborate with network team on recommended improvements;
- Implement enterprise-wide security standards, procedures, and guidelines;
- Assist in end-user security awareness and training;
- Monitor security events and assist in mitigation of active threats;
- Assist in identifying compliance gaps and implement appropriate controls;
- Review policies and procedures; and
- Conduct security training and testing.
Requirements
- Student actively pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred;
- Ability to work at least 25 hours per week during the semester;
- Certifications preferred but not required: Blue Team Level 1 Certification, eJPT, eCPPT, AZ-900, AZ-500;
- Active participation on cybersecurity learning platforms such as Tryhackme, Hackthebox;
- Interest and/or experience in offensive security;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- Ability to provide an outstanding work product with strong attention to detail;
- Ability to proactively organize, prioritize, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent communication skills; and
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and dependable.
Preference will be given to students who are currently in their Jr. or Sr. year or to students pursuing their MS degree. Langan does not provide housing or relocation assistance for internship/co-op positions.

Pay
Pay Range: $25—$32 USD per hour.
