About the role
The Oklahoma City Thunder is seeking a college student to join their Emmy Award-winning broadcast team. This internship offers hands-on experience with camera shoots, editing, and broadcasting technology.
Responsibilities
- Shadow broadcast personnel and game-night personnel to collect video coverage at various community events and home games.
- Learn proper camera techniques using Sony cameras.
- Work with the broadcasting team to create and edit professional projects using Avid and Photoshop/After Effects.
- Craft a professional feature to be aired in the Thunder Insider and applicable social media channels.
- Occasionally perform office and administrative duties to demonstrate the full cycle of department processes.
- Participate in company-scheduled internship program activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and eligible for internship credit.
- Pursuing a degree in broadcasting, journalism, marketing, or business.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of professional video cameras, Avid, and Photoshop, preferred.
- Ability to communicate content across various platforms including print, web, audio, and video.
- Ability to operate independently with limited supervision.

Pay
This internship does not provide compensation.
Schedule
The internship runs from August 24th, 2026, through December 4th, 2026. The work schedule requires 16-30 hours per week and includes office hours, events, and game night responsibilities during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The primary work location is the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for occasional local travel. Physical responsibilities may include lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. The work environment may involve both indoor and outdoor activities in various weather conditions, as well as exposure to loud crowd noise, amplified music, and flashing or strobe lighting during events and games.

- The internship is an in-person opportunity, reporting to the Broadcast Production Lead.
