Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings.
- Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.
- Participate in sample builds, teardowns, testing, and inspections.
- Participate, support and lead assigned projects in continuous improvement which include quality, safety, cost, and productivity improvements.
- Absorb and analyze data, assist in gathering information on standardization, new technologies, and cost reduction ideas.
- Responsible for test setup, execution, data collection, and reporting.
- Organize and prioritize work requests to meet project timing requirements.
- Develop and implement efficiency, cost, and quality improvement ideas.
- Apply knowledge in engineering procedures, tools, and engineering process development.
- Conduct problem solving investigations and troubleshooting to assure root cause is identified, counter measures and recurrence prevention are fully implemented.
- Support and participate in quality and CARE improvement initiatives directly or indirectly.
- Assist plant management by performing administrative functions.
- Provide technical support and analytical analysis for material issues.
Education & Experience
- Must be a full-time undergraduate student, enrolled in a cooperative education program at an accredited college or university.
- Must be at least a sophomore, and able to complete a minimum of two work rotations.
- Must maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team based environment.
- Computer skills required include Excel, Word, Power Point.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Problem solving, project management and communication skills are all necessary.
- In addition, candidates must have ability to generate accurate and concise technical reports.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- General office environment.
- Personal protective equipment required when in manufacturing areas.
- Must be able to constantly sit, flex/extend wrist, and/or twist/turn/tilt neck.
- Must be able to occasionally stand, walk, and lift, carry, push/pull up to 10 pounds.
- Repetitive computer and administrative tasks require constant hand activity, including: gripping/grasping, writing and/or typing.
- Must have following sensory functions: color vision, hearing, and speech.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
