Intern - Application Development - Claims

Overview Department Overview The Application Development division develops, implements, and supports information technology solutions that are either internally developed or purchased from a third party vendor. These applications and systems provide solutions to corporate data processing and information needs. The incumbent manages the efforts of direct reports, providing analysis and project management direction, and reviews the applications and systems developed to ensure they meet requirements of the organization. The incumbent works closely with managers and associates throughout the corporation in order to facilitate understanding of their information system needs. Primary Responsibilities The Intern position is designed for student workers who are still completing their education. The internship program is designed to provide practical work experience as well as exposure to our business environment. Intern positions are of limited duration and are designed to provide daily oversight with emphasis on training and development of the student. Summary Of Qualifications Status as a college student or recent college graduate of an educational institutionExperience working with various Microsoft Office programsExperience interpreting and communicating information orally and writtenExperience researching and analyzing dataExperience working independently as well as in a team environmentExperience identifying and solving problemsMust have a 3.0 GPA or consistent work/extracurricular activities if lowerPursuit of a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or Mathematics preferredCompletion of at least one Computer Science class where software development/programming was a part of the coursework preferredInterest in Application Development preferredBasic knowledge of web development is idealBasic knowledge of computer programming preferred (Ex. Java, JavaScript, .Net, OOP Concepts-Object Oriented Programming, and Data Structures)Basic knowledge of database and SQL queries preferred Basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies, with the ability to leverage them to improve productivity, efficiency, and business outcomes preferred College senior or recent graduate strongly preferred Work Location The work schedule for this position will be hybrid (onsite/remote). Business areas reserve the right to require associates to return to the office as needed, based on performance or other business considerations.
