About the role

This role is an onsite opportunity in the Comstock Park, Michigan area. The Account Coordinator, supporting the Intermodal & Truck Brokerage Operations department, is responsible for coordinating daily freight movements across North America while delivering exceptional customer service to key customer accounts in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Determine and secure the most profitable equipment type and/or transportation mode
  • Schedule pickup and delivery appointments per customer requirements
  • Procure and dispatch carriers
  • Communicate with carriers, customers, and railroads
  • Manage equipment pools
  • Ensure loads are picked up, moving on schedule, and delivered on time
  • Audit work orders
  • Analyze reports to assist in properly managing customer freight
  • Aid in the review and submission of customer pricing requests
  • Support teammates and provide operational backup as needed
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional evenings and weekends

Minimum Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, or related field preferred but not required
  • 3–5+ years of transportation, logistics, customer service, or related operational experience preferred
  • Intermodal transportation experience preferred, but not required
  • Cost management experience preferred, but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Sense of urgency and ownership mentality
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
