About the role
Join a team that supports intermodal drivers in a fast-paced, challenging, and highly rewarding environment. This role involves working closely with drivers and sales coordinators to provide first-class customer service to shipping partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead and retain a designated fleet of drivers.
- Establish a good working relationship with each driver while managing their availability to maximize fleet productivity.
- Monitor and train drivers to promote company safety culture.
- Analyze dispatch information to ensure drivers meet service standards.
- Monitor compliance with Federal DOT regulations, including hazardous material hauling, Hours of Service (HOS), accident reporting, and driver personnel records.
- Manage service of all equipment.
- Oversee driver performance and take disciplinary steps if necessary.
- Manage the fuel process in compliance with fleet requirements.
- Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
- Effectively manage rail ramp and driver utilization for maximum efficiencies and cost control through planning, dispatching, tracking, and communication.
- Manage and report ramp activity, including revenue, costs, and driver efficiencies.
- Educate drivers on rail ramp procedures, including in-gate/out-gate, equipment damage, ramp schedules, loading, and reefer set procedures in accordance with rail line and customer expectations.
- Process QUALCOMM messages in a timely manner.
- Communicate pertinent service/driver issues to the Intermodal Department.
- Train and cross-train within the intermodal department as needed.

Requirements
- Basic knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry (preferred but not required).
- Prior customer service experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to execute logical decisions quickly.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Good computer and keyboarding skills with the ability to type accurately at 50 WPM.
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and general internet use.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work rotating weekends as necessary.
Qualifications
- Four-year college degree in a business-related field or at least one year in a customer service environment (preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for a large portion of the day.
- Ability to multitask, talk on the telephone for extended periods, and type efficiently.
Working Environment
Primarily indoors in a climate-regulated office environment. Surroundings can be noisy at times. On-site attendance is required.
