Intermediate Restoration Technician

About the role

This position provides operational support in remediation efforts for clients. Qualified candidates will perform basic-level tasks related to dry and pre-cleaning damaged structures using accepted BELFOR processes and meeting BELFOR standards. Intermediates assist with the development of basic-level technicians and support advanced technicians on large or complex projects. This is the level 3 role in the Progressive Fire Damage track.

Responsibilities

• Follow instruction and work well under supervision
• Coordinate a small crew of unskilled laborers and keep them on task toward a defined objective
• Become familiar with all industry-standard odor and smoke removal techniques
• Be familiar with and able to perform all industry-standard structure cleaning processes
• Safely remove debris from affected structures without damaging unaffected areas while maintaining a clean and safe jobsite
• Aid in the installation and maintenance of containments
• Demonstrate ability to answer simple project-related questions or defer to a more experienced team member
• Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain vehicles in clean, serviceable condition
• Maintain attention to detail
• Meet BELFOR standards in safeguarding other people’s property
• Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
• Work nights and weekends as requested and travel periodically
• Report time worked and equipment and consumables used accurately and timely
• Attend BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required

Requirements

• 12 months of previous BELFOR experience at the Fire Damage Specialist – Basic Level – or equivalent industry-standard experience
• Direct involvement in a minimum of 25 fire damage projects
• Supervision of unskilled labor on residential and light commercial projects
• Dry and wet pre-cleaning and cleaning under supervision
• Debris removal under supervision
• Contents manipulation under supervision
• Containment setup under supervision
• Maintaining equipment used in daily tasks
• Comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices
