Intermediate Interior Designer

Responsibilities

  • Designing and presenting concepts to team for review.
  • Specifying and sourcing materials, lighting, hardware, appliances, fixtures and furniture for projects.
  • Designing and overseeing custom millwork and furniture pieces.
  • Creating graphics and visual presentations.
  • Creation of project documentation including full construction document sets.
  • Interior construction and millwork detailing is a must.
  • Work closely and communicate with firm principals and report project status.
  • Communicate and coordinate with outside consultants and vendors.
  • Attend regular site visits at key stages.
  • Aid with FF&E installs.
  • Update and maintain material library and schedule and coordinate vendor meetings.
  • Proactive approach and ability to meet project timelines and client expectations.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years professional experience.
  • Experience in NYC multi-family residential preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills including generation of presentations and articulating design information to clients.
  • Basic knowledge of current building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Strong communication, organization and time management skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and ability to multi-task in fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment.
  • Knowledge of local and online showrooms and resources as well as industry trends.
  • Proficiency in writing specifications and reviewing of shop drawings and submittals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field.

Skills

  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Highly proficient in Revit.
  • Highly proficient in Enscape.
  • Highly proficient in Sketch-up.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
