About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our boutique architecture and interior design practice based in Santa Barbara, CA (with remote possibilities). The role involves working closely with our principals to develop and execute interior design concepts for high-end residential clients across all phases of a project.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with principals to develop and execute interior design concepts for high-end residential clients.
  • Involvement across all phases including space planning, material selection, construction documentation, and site observation.
  • Contribute to mood boards, finish schedules, furniture selection, and drawing sets.
  • Gain hands-on experience in client relationships, vendor coordination, and the full design process.
  • Build skills and confidence to eventually lead projects of your own.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • Proficiency in Revit (required); experience with 3D rendering and visualization tools is a strong plus.
  • 3–7 years of professional experience in high-end residential interior design (California experience is especially valued).
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in residential interiors and the ability to produce complete finish schedules, furniture plans, and construction details.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously across different phases.
  • Self-driven and confident working through all phases of design, from concept to completion.

Benefits

  • Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, with potential for profit sharing and performance bonuses.
  • Healthcare support through QSEHRA for tax-free reimbursement of health insurance premiums and qualified medical expenses.
  • Paid time off including 15+ days of paid vacation and holidays.
  • Flexible work options, including remote and hybrid arrangements, with preference for Santa Barbara or LA candidates for occasional in-person collaboration.
  • Performance bonus tied to individual and firm-wide achievements.
