Intermediate Field Controls Technician
About the role
Munters is a global leader in climate solutions for mission-critical environments. Our Data Center Service Engineering team is seeking an Intermediate Field Controls Technician to support advanced cooling systems at customer sites across the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer jobsites—up to 75% on average—to troubleshoot and resolve HVAC and controls issues.
- Provide technical support to Field Service Technicians onsite and remotely.
- Troubleshoot controls programs, HMI systems, and unit/system interfaces.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
- Support new product development and testing at Munters facilities.
- Assist with prototype builds and provide feedback to Engineering and R&D.
- Participate in Kaizen and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects.
- Work independently while collaborating with Service, Engineering, R&D, and Operations teams.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of industry experience or relevant trade school/certification.
- Experience troubleshooting HVAC equipment and controls systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
- Knowledge of HVAC components including compressors, valves, fans, and heat exchangers.
- Experience working with equipment involving sheet metal, piping, valves, and heat exchangers.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Able to travel extensively—up to 75%.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in active industrial/customer environments.

$40/hr - $45/hr
