Intermediate Control Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Winston Salem, NC. You will work alongside highly motivated engineers to design, program, integrate, troubleshoot, and support new and existing automated control systems. This role offers a flexible work environment combining remote, in-office, and on-site work to balance productivity and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Control system design and preparation of functional specifications
• Electrical engineering and assistance with equipment selection
• PLC programming and design/programming of Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI)
• Site commissioning, installation support, and troubleshooting of electrical, PLC, and HMI systems
• Supporting project proposals and estimation
• Leading teams of other Control Systems Engineers
• Performing additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager
• Interfacing with customers on-site to drive continuous improvement
• Coordinating team activities to meet customer objectives

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and implementing control systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Design, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent college diploma
• Ability to complete security clearance requirements if needed

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience leading teams
• Experience designing electrical control systems
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Aptitude for programming ladder logic
• Knowledge of PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens) is an asset
• Knowledge of HMI/SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition, FactoryTalkView, iFix) is an asset
• Programming experience in C, C#, VBA, SQL, or other languages is an asset
• Understanding of industrial environments, engineering, and production processes
