Intermediate Accountant

We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant with a strong background in accounts payable to join our team in Houston, Texas. Responsibilities

• Process and manage a high volume of invoices daily, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform two-way matching of invoices to purchase orders and receipts.
• Reconcile accounts to ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
• Conduct check runs and prepare payments in accordance with company policies.
• Code invoices appropriately and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and address vendor inquiries.
• Utilize SAP and other accounting systems to manage accounts payable processes.
• Maintain organized documentation for all financial transactions and reporting.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Assist with additional accounting tasks as required to meet departmental goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles.
• Proficiency in invoice processing and account reconciliation.
• Experience with SAP (VIM preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of invoices daily.
• Familiarity with coding invoices and performing check runs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.

Preferred skills

• Preferred experience with OpenText, though not required.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members and vendors.
