About the role
The Interior Maintenance Supervisor partners with the Interior Operations Manager to oversee the Interior Maintenance Department, which includes supervising field staff and acting as a liaison between customers and Company operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise maintenance teams, assigning and delegating responsibilities as appropriate, and in coordination and under the direction of the Operations Manager.
- Ensure accountability standards are met.
- Ensure maintenance team supplied with all materials needed to ensure high-quality care in maintaining indoor plants, green walls, and atrium landscapes efficiently.
- Monitor and order materials as needed to ensure proper equipment maintenance.
- Gather information on new sales opportunities and send it to sales staff as a lead.
- Execute customer service programs consistent with company mission and department standards; this includes proactive quality assurance as assigned, timely and thorough follow-up, and regular contact/meetings with customers.
- Work with other departments, oversee/generate necessary communications, proposals, billings, and recordkeeping.
- Conduct regular quality checks of the cleaning, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and pest control of indoor plantscapes to ensure optimal health and aesthetics.
- Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring all work is performed securely, aiding when needed to ensure completion of required work tasks.
- Update all systems daily, weekly, and monthly with pertinent data as required.
- Ensure security of building and vehicles by coordinating with department managers on daily lock-up tasks, delegating to Interior Department staff as necessary.
- Respond to and relay employee concerns, partnering with the Operations Manager and other members of management as appropriate to ensure timely communication and follow-through.
- Participate in the processes of training, and monitoring performance of department staff, including maintaining records consistent with company-wide policies and standards, as needed.
- Provide back-up assistance in caring for plants when needed, working solitary or with a partner.
- Enforce hours of operation, lunch and mandatory breaks, and any and all company policies.
- Work vehicle maintenance: Maintain clean vehicles at all times, ensuring interior and exterior cleanliness. Remove personal items from vehicles daily (lunchboxes, cell phones, garbage, etc.). Adhere to Company maintenance inspection policy. Report any and all accidents (regardless of nature and severity) immediately.
- Participate in company LEAN activities and maintain areas as assigned.
- Maintain Aspire, emails, and phone messages throughout workday and respond in a timely manner, always following the company “Sunset Rule” for internal and external communications.
- Update and utilize Aspire in daily work, keeping accurate and up-to-date records on all accounts.
Requirements
- Minimum two years’ supervisory experience, including overseeing a workforce in multiple customer locations.
- Tropical horticultural background.
- Knowledge of interior plant care techniques, pests, and diseases.
- Valid State Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
- Current Pesticide License is required within first year of employment.
- Must maintain certification including Laws & Safety and Interior Plants endorsements, throughout employment.
- Endorsements and familiarity with proper IPM strategies.
- Strong horticultural skills including plant identification, plant maintenance, and disease and insect prevention skills.
- Knowledge of and be comfortable using horticultural reference materials.

- Experience in horticulture, interior plant maintenance, or commercial landscaping.
