Interior Hard-Trim Engineer - Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite) :: Contract (W2)

Location: Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite). Duration: 6+ Months of Contract (W2)

Responsibilities

• Support Design Release Engineering activities for automotive Hard Trim components.
• Design and release interior trim components such as IP trim, door trim, consoles, pillars, and garnish parts.
• Create and maintain 2D/3D CAD designs, engineering drawings, and product specifications.
• Manage CAD revisions, BOMs, ECNs/ECRs, and engineering change releases.
• Work closely with manufacturing, tooling, quality, suppliers, and product engineering teams.
• Ensure designs meet manufacturing, assembly, quality, cost, and dimensional requirements.
• Review GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, material specifications, and component interfaces.
• Support DFM/DFA, tooling reviews, prototype builds, and production launches.
• Investigate design-related manufacturing issues and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate with suppliers for tooling, part development, validation, and production readiness.
• Participate in design reviews, APQP, PPAP, and change management activities.
• Ensure compliance with automotive engineering and manufacturing standards.
• Support issue resolution throughout prototype, pilot, and production phases.
