Interior Electrician (12R) FT

Job Duties

• Install transformers, junction boxes, circuit breakers, service panels, switches, electrical boxes and lightning rods
• Read blueprints, wire plans and repair orders to determine layouts/repair
• Test equipment for the operational conduction of circuits
• Inspect power distribution systems, shorts in wires and faulty equipment
• Repair and replace faulty wiring and lighting fixtures

Requirements

• Must meet DoD requirements
• Those who want to serve must first take the ASVAB
• Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training
• Learn more about the ASVAB and see which Army jobs are best for you
• Some of the skills you’ll learn include fundamentals of electricity, electrical circuit troubleshooting, safety procedures, techniques for wiring switches, outlets and junction boxes
• Helpful skills include an interest in electricity, science and math, ability to use hand tools, preference for doing physical work
• Required ASVAB Scores: Electronics (EL): 93

Compensation

• Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time
• Earn up to $40,000 in cash bonuses for certain Military Occupational Specialties
