About the role

This position will have a design or technical focus and be a member of our multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with design and technical leadership and will be an integral part of project teams. Your initial assignment will be on a 2.0+ million square foot healthcare facility at Mayo Clinic’s campus.

Responsibilities

  • Aid Senior Interior Designer and/or Project Manager with the execution of the project goals throughout all phases (Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration).
  • Develop the design including planning and three-dimensional studies.
  • Assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces to include drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, pattern designs, elevations, details, etc.
  • Select, layout, and specify furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) throughout all phases of interior design work, as required.
  • Prepare drawings in conformance with project time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Identify, research, and apply building and life safety codes to applicable interior design work.
  • Create renderings and other presentation materials.
  • Follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
  • Participate in client meetings with Senior Interior Designer to gain client interaction and presentation experience.
  • Conduct construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list.
  • Participate in site visits, which may require a physical walk-through of the site.
  • Mentor less experienced interior design staff and provide guidance in the development of project documents.
  • Actively participate and promote design quality.
  • Understand proper application of materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience required.
  • Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • Ability to participate the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content.
  • Strong creative design portfolio is essential as are strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Professional business attire is required for all client meetings.
