Interior Design Certificate Program Educator
About the role
The Office of Professional Advancement is seeking qualified part-time Program Educators for the Interior Design Certificate Program. We are looking for experienced industry professionals who are passionate about teaching, design, and adult education.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive instruction in interior design concepts and applications
- Teach technical and creative skills related to design software, drafting, rendering, and space planning
- Facilitate hands-on learning activities, projects, and participant assessments
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and constructive feedback to participants
- Maintain current knowledge of interior design practices, technologies, and industry trends
- Support participant professional growth and portfolio development
Requirements
- A master’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, Spatial Design, Fine Arts, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of professional industry and/or teaching experience in interior design or related disciplines
- Demonstrated expertise in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, and Space Planning
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Preferred qualifications
- Experience teaching adult learners in professional, continuing education, or higher education settings
- Knowledge of current interior design trends, materials, and industry standards
- Professional licensure or certifications related to interior design or architecture
Additional requirements
- Reliable internet access and the ability to teach remotely via Zoom
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills
- Ability to demonstrate software applications and design processes effectively in an online learning environment

Pay
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
These are part-time staff positions. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis based on instructional needs, and the applicant pool will remain open throughout the academic year. Please note that appointments and course assignments are contingent upon student enrollment, program needs, and available funding. Final confirmation of teaching assignments may not occur until classes begin.
