Adjunct Instructor in Interior Design
Summary of Position
The Department of Art, Design and Letters at Converse University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Interior Design to teach undergraduate courses focusing on CAD and Revit beginning Fall 2026. This role prepares students for professional practice through technical drawing, digital modeling, and visualization skills.
Essential Duties and Non-Essential Duties
Teaching: Develop and deliver course content within NASAD standards, grade assignments, maintain office hours, document as required for NASAD and meet all deadlines for grade entry as required by the Office of the Registrar.
Service: Provide service to the department, school, and university.
Creative Scholarship: Engage in professional activities relevant to the field.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD (CAD), Chief Architect, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.), Enscape/Lumion, and Virtual Reality (VR)/Augmented Reality (AR) applications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to student-centered teaching and learning.
Prior Experience: Prior undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in interior design or architecture practice.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in design visualization and immersive environments.
- Engagement with industry standards and trends.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Guidelines and Supervision
This position is supervised by the Chair of the Department of Art, Design and Letters. The Adjunct Instructor of Interior Design is expected to self-manage their courses, including development and delivery of content based on NASAD and CIDA standards, and following the course description in the academic catalog. They are also expected to provide feedback and meet deadlines for grade entry as required by the Office of the Registrar.
