About the role

SAWA Design Studio LLC is a full‑service design studio in Sarasota, Florida, delivering innovative design solutions for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. The studio’s services include interior design, lighting design, architectural integration, styling, custom furniture, furniture procurement, and creative brand solutions. As the interiors department expands, the studio is seeking a Part‑Time Interior Design Assistant to support project documentation and coordination with the Principal.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with firm principals and the lead interior designer on project design, material and finish selections, documentation, and management.
• Prepare 3D concept perspectives, interior elevations, details, finishes, and furniture plans/specifications.
• Assist with construction drawing sets in coordination with the lead interior designer and project manager.
• Review samples, strike‑offs, and other materials for compliance with specifications and design intent.
• Document meeting minutes and distribute them to team members and clients.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, contractors, and sub‑contractors.
• Maintain a well‑organized office environment and answer phone calls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design (or foreign equivalent).
• 2+ years of progressive interior design experience.
• Strong graphic and visualization skills.
• Ability to provide work samples that demonstrate relevant experience.

Skills

• Proficiency with Revit (preferred), AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, and SketchUp.
• 3ds Max is a plus.
• Computer skills with at least 2 years of experience using the above software.
