About the Role
The Industry Liaison – Temporary role serves as a representative of the Dr. Robert K. Jabs School of Business at California Baptist University (CBU), fostering strategic partnerships with industry leaders, educational institutions, and community organizations. This role develops collaborative relationships that support the school’s mission, enhance student and employer engagement, expand experiential learning opportunities, and advance the distinctive goals and initiatives of CBU and the School of Business.
Responsibilities
- Develop, cultivate, and maintain relationships with corporate partners, industry leaders, and community stakeholders to support the mission and strategic objectives of the Dr. Robert K. Jabs School of Business.
- Identify, secure, and expand internship and experiential learning opportunities with private, public, nonprofit, and community-based organizations for students.
- Support academic programs by recruiting and coordinating industry professionals, executives, and subject matter experts to serve as guest speakers, panelists, and classroom presenters.
- Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to develop and implement practicum, consulting, and project-based learning experiences that enhance student learning and professional readiness.
- Research, develop, and facilitate Business Service Projects that provide students with practical, real-world business experiences while serving organizational needs.
- Research, develop, and facilitate Internal Service Projects that support School of Business initiatives and contribute to student engagement and professional development.
- Secure sponsorships, donations, and external support for student projects, equipment, facilities, capstone experiences, scholarships, and other School of Business initiatives.
- Manage and maintain the School of Business website, digital communications, and social media platforms to promote programs, events, student opportunities, and engagement initiatives.
- Identify and recruit qualified industry professionals who support the vision and mission of CBU to serve as curriculum partners, mentors, advisory council members, and strategic collaborators.
- Research, develop, and support initiatives designed to increase student interest, recruitment, enrollment, retention, and engagement among both domestic and international student populations.
- Promote, coordinate, and support School of Business events, with a particular emphasis on expanding networking, career readiness, and professional development opportunities for students, alumni, and community partners.
- Represent the School of Business through regular travel to corporate offices, industry events, meetings, conferences, and other engagement opportunities with current and prospective partners.
- Serve as a liaison between the School of Business and external organizations, providing support and coordination for partnerships, outreach efforts, and community engagement activities.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of departmental and University objectives.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Marketing, Communications, Higher Education, or a related field; and one (1) to two (2) years of related professional experience in business development, community engagement, higher education, sales, marketing, partnership development, or a related area; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
