Interim Risk Manager

About the role
An Interim Risk Manager is needed to oversee risk management processes for a medical center in California. Reports to the Patient Safety Director.
- Ensure all complaints and grievances are properly logged
- Review and prepare grievance letters
- Maintain timely follow-up on grievances
- Collaborate with legal counsel on lawsuits, legal requests, and depositions
The ideal candidate will have strong risk management and patient safety experience, with demonstrated expertise in managing complaints and grievances in a healthcare environment. Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical. Must be available to start within 2–3 weeks of acceptance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification highly preferred
- Three or more years of experience in risk management and/or patient safety required

Pay
Compensation range: $155,000 to $160,000 annually. The final rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations.
