About the Role

The Interim Nurse Manager, Postpartum, will oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the department(s), including approximately 160+ direct reports across three units: Postpartum, Lactation and Parent Education, and the “We Too!” team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care and driving performance improvement initiatives such as OB code capacity, throughput, patient experience, and staff communication. The leader will foster a positive work environment, emphasizing collaboration, engagement, and alignment of nursing goals between departments. The ideal candidate will navigate organizational change while establishing accountability and must be available to start within 2–3 weeks of acceptance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Postpartum, Lactation and Parent Education, and “We Too!” units.
  • Manage 160+ direct reports, ensuring effective leadership and staff engagement.
  • Drive quality and performance improvement initiatives, including OB code capacity, throughput, and patient experience/satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong communication between leadership and front-line staff.
  • Align nursing goals across departments to support organizational objectives.
  • Foster a positive work environment through collaboration and accountability.
  • Lead departmental initiatives and adapt to organizational change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • Active RN license (required).
  • Experience in Women’s Services/Postpartum nursing leadership.
  • Willingness and ability to operate through organizational change.
  • Available to start within 2–3 weeks of acceptance.

Pay

Compensation Range: $160,000 to $170,000 annually. The final rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation.
