Interim Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)

Project Overview

The consultant will take over responsibilities to oversee factory accounting and support the local team. This position requires a professional who can operate independently once up & running.

• Standard Costing
• ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
• Advanced Excel (expert‑level, “living on Excel”)
• Manufacturing process knowledge

Responsibilities

• Manage journal entries, month‑end close, inventory, and factory‑specific reporting.
• Oversee and review the work of the site “bidding team” (3 employees).
• Perform revenue recognition using various methods for manufacturing.
• Bridge data gaps between the current system and manual spreadsheets to provide actionable information.
• Pass knowledge and mentorship to junior and mid‑level accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Background equivalent to a Senior Cost Accountant.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
• Expert‑level Excel skills are mandatory to manage manual tracking and data consolidation across multiple departments.
• Deep understanding of Standard Costing and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
• Hands‑on experience with manufacturing ERPs is highly preferred.
