About the role
The Nordstrom Beauty Department aims to enhance customers' confidence and beauty. As a Beauty Counter Manager, you will engage in personalized beauty experiences, collaborate with the team to ensure a welcoming environment, and drive sales.
Responsibilities
- Conduct makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product recommendations based on customer goals
- Collaborate with team members to create an inclusive and welcoming store environment
- Set and achieve sales targets, leveraging both in-store and digital selling tools (including text and social media)
- Manage vendor events and promotions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to boost business performance
- Keep the department ready for customers through organization and cleanliness
- Stay updated on the latest beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through provided training
- Encourage the opening of new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts
Requirements
- Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to connect with customers and handle concerns professionally
- Empathy towards all customers, ensuring a supportive environment during makeup and skincare sessions
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and follow-through abilities
- Drive to meet sales goals, interested in networking and technology
- Able to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
- High level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
Physical Requirements
- Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- Handling bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head
- Regularly lifting items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
