About the Position
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This is an Interdisciplinary, GS-13, position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Technical Services Branch, Cost Engineering Section, in Galveston, Texas. The following job series will be considered: Civil Engineering (0810), Mechanical Engineering (083), Electrical Engineering (0850). A recruitment/relocation incentive may be offered.
Responsibilities
- As Team Leader you will ensure team members have their assignments, understand goals, and are aware of schedules.
- Perform analysis to determine most desirable feasibility costs.
- Develop construction cost estimates for a variety of large, complex civil works and military projects in the planning, design, and construction phases.
- Utilize complex technical data and analyses in order to make sound cost engineering decisions.
- Monitor work progress to include resource needs, potential project impacts, and quality of products to ensure that quality work is completed on-schedule and within budget.
