About the role

The Intercompany Accountant is a key member of the US Accounting team. This position is responsible for reviewing intercompany balance sheets and income statement accounts, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP, assisting with quarterly and annual reviews/audit, and supporting other general-ledger activities or projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Possess an overall understanding of intercompany accounting concepts and requirements in a multi-currency environment; identify accounting issues and assist in their resolution.
  • Work closely with Tax, IT, Treasury, and International accounting teams on intercompany matters to ensure systems and processes are working as designed, intercompany transactions are supported by agreements, and settlements are timely.
  • Perform monthly intercompany close activities, including preparation of journal entries, review of intercompany shipment reports, and reconciliation of intercompany accounts in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Ensure all intercompany accounts are properly eliminated in the consolidated financial statements.
  • Support system projects by testing intercompany system configuration changes, creating/updating test plans, and documenting test results.
  • Assist with training and support to ensure global compliance with intercompany policies and procedures.
  • Participate in finance-related projects and other ad-hoc initiatives.
  • Provide control documentation to Internal Audit and assure internal controls are operating effectively for areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
  • 4+ years of general accounting experience.

Skills

  • Understanding of general accounting operations and processes.
  • Accounting knowledge under US GAAP.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with management and cross-functional groups.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Experience with SAP/S4 HANA or other large ERP systems.
  • Experience with BlackLine or similar reconciliation tools.

    • Three days of paid bereavement leave (extended to 5 days in cases requiring travel).
    • Jury duty pay: full pay for up to 10 days for non-exempt employees; full salary for exempt employees during any week they serve and perform work.
    • Optional insurance: legal, critical illness, voluntary accident, long-term care, auto, home, and pet insurance.

Pay

If provided, base salary or wage rate ranges reflect the range in which Align reasonably expects to set a candidate’s pay for the posted position. Actual placement depends on individual skills, experience level, and total compensation/equity across team members. For locations outside the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically. For field sales roles, the listed salary is base pay only and does not include applicable incentive compensation plans. A cost-of-living adjustment may be added for higher-cost areas in the U.S.
