Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Van Driver

Position Summary

The Van Driver will have the responsibility to transport clients to the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) site, office locations, community activities and home from the program as directed or as scheduled. In addition, the Van Driver will be responsible to keep the van clean and to assure proper maintenance routines so that the van is maintained in good working order.

Responsibilities

  • Be available in a timely manner for all van activities
  • Adhere to various pick up/drop off time schedules in a timely manner
  • Keep the van clean
  • Keep the van in good working order
  • Maintain a good to excellent driving record
  • Assure student/client safety during transport
  • Maintain a pleasant/supportive/friendly attitude
  • Adhere to all driving/speeding laws
  • Do not use a cell phone while transporting unless absolutely necessary and then, pull off the road when it is necessary
  • Maintain a daily log of all trips including issues that occurred.

Requirements

  • Rhode Island Driver’s License – Required
  • Chauffeur’s License – Preferred
  • No recent driving violations
  • Some experience working with adolescents
  • Some understanding of mental health behaviors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to apply good common sense in all situations
  • Proven ability to manage time and circumstances
  • Ability to manage some age-appropriate behaviors to insure safety

Pay

Salary Range: $18.50-$20.00 Per Hour

Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, education, language capacity, skills, and other qualifications relevant to the role, in alignment with organizational parity guidelines and market conditions.
