Responsibilities

• Adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures, including safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
• Stay abreast of trends, developments, and regulatory requirements impacting nursing practice.
• Administer, oversee, and document medication administration (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, and intravenously) as ordered by healthcare practitioners and in accordance with hospital policy.
• Assess patients to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs.
• Gather relevant data for patient care, implement appropriate interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
• Plan care based on needs identified during initial and ongoing assessments.
• Provide holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care within the scope of practice.
• Prepare patients for discharge and assist with coordinating post-discharge needs.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in communication and care provision.
• Understand how the culture(s) of patient populations affect communication, collaboration, and care delivery.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills associated with the department’s defined specific populations served.
• Engage in professional growth opportunities and demonstrate self-accountability for meeting stated deadlines.
• Document care delivered and patient status using the nursing process in accordance with FHS standards.
• Record changes in patient condition, responses to intervention, and reassessments of pertinent findings.
• Receive and ensure appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness, and execution of physician orders.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Washington state upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• One of the following experience requirements:
  • 1-2 years of med/surg experience and successful completion of a critical care residency program, or
  • RN with completion of a senior practicum in a specialty area (e.g., critical care, ED, PACU) and successful completion of a critical care residency program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• One year of related work experience in an acute care setting.
• Previous PCU/ICU experience.
• Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or equivalent.

Pay

$48.08 - $90.82 per hour.
