Job Summary
Performs skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure. This includes traffic signal systems, fiber optic communications, network devices, CCTV cameras, vehicle detection systems, and other advanced transportation technologies. Work involves field and shop responsibilities that require independent judgment, technical expertise, and adherence to safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Four (4) years of experience in traffic signal systems, ITS, telecommunications, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required
Required Certifications
- Valid Florida CDL Class “B” Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification (Intermediate or Advanced) in accordance with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards.
- International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Technician Level II
- IMSA Fiber Optics Technician certification within 12 months of hire.

- To work in varying environmental conditions, including roadway traffic and confined spaces
- To work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
